Allergy Season is Here. Is Your Carpet Ready?

You can feel it in the air – spring time! Chicago is a great city all year round, but the windy city really shines in spring and summer. However, with spring sun and warmth comes spring allergy season, and if you are a spring allergy sufferer, the stuffiness, headaches, and everything else can really hamper your enjoyment of the city.

However – we can help. Learn how below!

Spring Weather brings Spring Allergy Season

Sneezing. Congestion. Headaches. Dizziness. Shortness of breath. Fatigue. Burning, watery eyes. Spring allergy sufferers are familiar with some or all of those symptoms, and it’s about to get bad again for those folks here in Chicago.

For a quick refresher, for those of you lucky enough to be spared from allergies- spring allergies are generally caused by pollen from trees, grasses, and weeds. You’ve seen it before – that yellow dust that shakes out of the trees and coats pretty much every single thing outside.

Many people’s bodies treat pollen for what it s. However, allergy sufferer’s bodies see pollen as an invading microbe, and activate their self defense systems – which cause the aforementioned symptoms to show up.

Dealing with Allergy Season

There are a few great ways to deal with allergies, and hundreds upon hundreds of folk remedies. We’ll stick to two methods proven to deal with allergy season in Chicago: Medicine and Surface cleaning.

Medicine – Lessen the Effect

There are tons of brands of OTC allergy medicine you can try for your allergies, and they focus on lessening your body’s reaction to pollen. Speak with your doctor or pharmacist to see what they recommend, and begin taking it as soon as possible

Surface Cleaning – Lessen the Cause

Allergy symptoms are often directly correlated with the amount of pollen you ingest in your environment. So it makes sense then, that the less pollen around you, the better your allergies will be. However, pollen is microscopic and floats on the air, so there’s no keeping it out of your home or off of your clothes – so you’ll need to get rid of it somehow. Dusting, mopping and cleaning are a good start (though we’d advise you to wear a mask when you do!) – but that alone won’t solve the problem. Pollen can get ground into your carpet and upholstery fibers, and there’s just not an easy way to get it out. The good news? We can help!

That’s where we come in. The long and the short of it is this – our carpet cleaning process physically removes the vast, vast majority of pollen in your carpet and upholstery. You can learn more about our process here!

When you couple a medicine that lessens the effects of allergies with a cleaning solution that lessens the cause, you’ll be feeling so much better. So what are you waiting for?
